Default "Blu-ray Adoption Less than VHS in Japan"

http://uk.i4u.com/article22401.html

Anyone else seen this joke of an article? VHS is even doing better than DVD according to their Mickey Mouse research. It's like they decided to poll all the people who still had a player of some kind sitting somewhere in their house instead of looking at actual sales trends from the past year. Y'know, like articles that are actually relevant to the present do.

What's next, saying Blu-ray adoption is less than books? OH NOEZ!!

They're just twisting a recent study about what people have in their homes in Japan. A lot of people still have VHS hooked up there. It was asking what people had in the house, not what they use every day

Guilty as charged, in the house I have 2 VHS players (1 in a TV combo set), 1 Laserdisc player, 2 DVD players, 1 Blu Ray player (PS3).

Because obviously when people don't throw their old stuff (VHS players, Laserdisc players) it means ... that it's really bad for new formats?

There are zero links in either article to back up these findings, or even to indicate how the poll was taken. Someone needs to tell this joker when April 1st falls on the calendar...

Yes, taken from that POV, then the majority of us would have to say the same. This is the problem with polls: they can be distorted to give you "facts" supporting any point of view that you want...

For the record, I no longer have a VHS player in my home. I just donated 2 DVD players and 3 VHS players to charity (along with many other items) to get rid of some clutter in the house. I have one DVD player left (running my sound system of all things), and don't plan on buying another.
