Have fun phloyd. Get as many freebie BD discs as you can. And if you see Universal, Dreamworks or Paramount execs, convince them to go BD exclusively.

Wonder if there are any 4K 3D cameras on demo? Or any 3D 1080p cameras?
4K cameras would be good for the movie industry in general, for the directors who like to shoot in digital HD. That way their films, if all of the EFX are done in 4K, can archive well over 2050. Hopefully the current HD pipeline can handle that much video info. fuad |

I saw the Adobe CS3 tools today - apparently releasing late summer.
Adobe Encore CD3 has BD capability though I believe it is essentially the Sonic software merged with Encore. That said they had a disc playing that was HDV sourced, Encore authored and playing on the PS3 so that is all good! ![]() The Red Camera movie was awesome. They were playing back on a Sony 4k projector and the movie was a 10 minute short shot by Peter Jackson on two Red cameras. Image quality was very nice. Their video codec appears to be very good - I didn't see any compression artifacts. Interestingly enough the film was shot in my town of birth (my mother lives something like 15 miles from Peter Jackson's house). The film was a world war one period 'war' short with all kinds of vintage planes and cars and tanks. Very impressive. Though the storyline was a little corny and there was no dialogue. It was a great demo though and I am sure that we will see more real films using cameras like the Red and the Dalsa cameras. Can't think of anything else... there are a lot of 3D things going on - not sure how useful ![]() |

I'm not versed in camera tech. What's Red & Dalsa cameras?
Any tech or products that may go directly to consumer anytime soon? fuad |

They are digital cameras, lets call them Super HDTV cameras. The Red has made a lot of splash because it was someone outside the camera companies taking an old lets see if we can do better approach and supposedly will cost much less. Supposedly there has been even industrial spionage done against it
