Default I know why I don't like Transformers

Besides me being used to Beast Wars (which didn't involve any humans) the problem was Bay did to many stories. We didn't need the military, government/signal analysts, and shia's perspective.

It has a lot of great acting and is well made. It's just overstuffed with characters.

I had no problem with it OUTSIDE of the inclusion of Anthony Anderson and Rachael whatever's character in there. I felt they were completely unnecessary! But I could watch it over and over again,

She was hot but after Megan it seemed unnecessary.

I agree that Anthony didn't need to be in it.

My biggest problem was the way the camera zoomed in right on the arms and legs of the transformers during every action scene. This style works in your average movie because we can recognize a human arm or leg (although I am still not a fan of the style), but in transformers I had no clue what was going on, I didnt know if they were zooming in on a leg or an arm and wether it was a good transformer or a bad transformer.

Given I only saw the movie once at the theater, maybe I could get used to the fight style and figure out what was happening the second or third time, but why should it take two-three viewings to understand the action scenes.

You have to watch it several times to recognize which is which Transformer and to figure out which side they are on.

To anyone who owns the blu-ray

Watch the special features! At least some of them, it's incredibly interesting and it makes you appreciate it more.

Yeah, but think about it. What would be the Human reaction if a robot from outherspace attacked a US Military Base for real. I'am pretty sure they would nuke the F*** out of it...

Is that the sign of a good movie? I'm not trying to bash it but can you imagine if it took multiple viewings of The Departed to recognize which character is which and which side they are on?

Simply using wide shots on the action scenes would have solved that problem.

I am not suggesting that. There are wide shots, but as they close in it is more difficult to recognize them. I am just indicating since unlike people, you need to see the different robots and or hear them "speak" it is much more difficult to recognize which one is which. Sort of the idea that "they all look the same" without being able to see them and/or their parts more closely to recognize which is which.

Thats kind of the point I am making. They could have kept most of the action scenes as wide shots. If zooming in makes it more difficult to recognize them (so much so that it takes multiple viewings to really know whats happenng), then why do it that way.

They also could have developed the Transformers more, made them more relatable and therefore more recognizable instead of dwelling on Shia LaBeouf. Seriously, its like making a Batman movie and seeing it from the perspective of some little kid in gotham.

I dont know. I guess this movie is good for what it is (a Michael Bay special effects demonstration), and its alright people like it. But these are the reasons I dont.

I feel the same. In beast wars there isn't a single human and I loved it.

But Shia is a great actor and Megan is gorgeous. So it's a less annoying than it would be otherwise.
