Default Dirty/scratched DVD damage PS3?

Hi - I received a really dirty, some slight sticky residue on it and very scratched up DVD from Netflix and I'm afraid to play it in my PS3 for fear it may ruin or damage it. Can it damage my PS3 or should I just not take any chances.

Thanks.

Sorry, if I'm posting in the wrong area.

If you cleaned up the disc, you can play it regardless of scratches; the PS3 can't do anything about the scratched up parts. If you don't want to clean it, don't play it.

yeah just clean it with warm/hot water and a lint free cloth. Dry it off completely, then all should be well.

Send it back to Netflix then go to your Netflix account and report the problem saying it was to scratched up to play in your player and ask for a replacement copy.

If the disc is clean, the scratches on it will not damage your PS3 system. The disc will either play or not.
