how much is it? because with prices the way they are right now, you could probably get a much better tv for not much more money.

$397 i was just browsing walmart and they seem to have good deals on tvs lately. its between this emerson and vizio 32" both $397. the vizio has picture in picture w/ picture in picture for PC use so the big screen is the PC and the smaller pic is whatever tv station u want to watch. ill prolly get the vizio.

Add another $100-200 on top of the $400 and you could get a legitimate HDTV. I'd stay away from the Emerson, AND the Vizio.

Some people really can't afford "name brand sets". There is nothing wrong with that. Hell, we have a Westinghouse LCD mixed in with all our name brands.

The Westinghouse was purchased because it was cheap and we did not want to spend a ton of money on a tv that would not be used often. Supports 1080i, it's 32" and looks damn nice for what it is.

Get what you can afford. Go look at both sets and pick the one that looks best to you. My gut tells me to tell you Vizio. However, again - it's all about the picture. What will you be using it for? Primary (living room) or as a secondary set (bedroom/guest room)?

I suggest just waiting patiently and you might be able to find a better brand for a little more or even the same price. Not to long ago they had a 32' Sharp LCD at wal mart for 399. My friend picked one up and he loves it. I was on a budget when I bought my tv, and try to cut corners, but I figured out that if Im gonna invest money on a tv, I might as well use it towards one that Im gonna love.

This is how I see it, TV is not a an everyday investment and everyday prices are just getting lowered and lowered since new 2009 line up is coming out. With $550-600 you can probably get yourself a Samsung for around $500 and probably get free shipping on amazon as opposed to $400 + tax on a TV that is not so great

Sam Ln32a450 is on amazon for $570 Shipped so around $100 more but a lot better TV

+1

Why spend $400 for a below average set, when you could spend $500-600 and get an above average set?

Patience is a virtue
