Default Which 32" TV should I get?

I don't want to spend anymore than £350... maybe £400.

I was looking in PC World and they had an 32LG7000 1080p, a Sharp LC32D44E and a Sony KDL32V4000, each for £350. Are these good?

Not sure about all those sets in particular, but I will tell you people on these boards favor the reputation of Sonys and LGs over Sharps, on the dependability ratings and the picture quality.

I have seen that LG model, though, and they do make a damn good TV. I think they're a somewhat underrated brand here. That model had some good black levels for an LCD and good colors.

The LG is also 1080p and the other two are 720p but I now know there won't be much difference for a 32".

So should I go for that LG then? Are there any others that people think I should consider?

Ah yes, the 1080p question. Nah, you won't see a difference at that size. The LG looks great in my opinion but not because it's 1080p. If the Sony set is cheaper for 720p and you can get some confirmed thumbs-up on that one I might stick with it, or maybe look at some other 720p options too and save some money.

Thanks for the help. I managed to get a v4000. They were selling out everywhere, so that was lucky.

Can't wait to try it out!
