Default Dark Knight Encode Problem And Question? Pls Help!

I finally had a chance to watch the Dark Knight and seem to have found a problem. In chapter 35 at the 02:10:53 mark it pixelates for one frame then again at the 02:10:54 mark for four frames. Can anyone check to see if your having the same issue? I exchanged the disc three times at different best buys but all had the same issue. Also, does anyone have a telephone number or an e-mail for Warner Bros? I hope they will exchange it, or ill have to get a refund. I currently use a PS3 for my blu-ray player with the most current firmware update. Thx for any help!

I have watched the movie 3 times on 2 different tvs and have noticed nothing other than a picture-perfect movie. Perhaps its your PS3, its an odd thing to happen at the same time every time. When I get home I might look into it if someone else hasn't.

Oberron- I believe I know the sequence you are taking about. Is it when Batman is getting in the fight with the Joker and he's confused where the Joker is? Believe it or not but those bad or pixelated frames are supposed to represent when Batman's sonar vision gets screwed up.

I saw it the first time I watched it and immediately thought that Warner Bros. messed up again like the terrible mistake on The Matrix Revolutions Blu-ray. I asked a friend of mine to check out his standard DVD and he told me in frame by frame mode that it was there also and very noticeable.

It appears that this was done on purpose especially since this is on the standard DVD too. No matter how many copies you get, it will always be on there. If this was a mistake it wouldn't just be on a few copies but all of them especially if it was an encode or master error. Very good catch by the way as I can see some people without a trained eye missing this. I do QC in the DVD world and it stood out to me right away.

Happy New Year!!!

My copy keeps shifting aspect ratios at certain times. Wonder if I got a bum copy.

Yikes, I can't believe I switched that disc out three times for something that was meant to be there. Thank You very much DvD Forever for letting me know, as it was driving me crazy. I was beginning think no-one else noticed it. Iam just starting to build a modest home theater in my home with a 106 inch screen and i can imagine how something like that will be magnified. Thx again for your input.

Happy New year everyone!

http://home.earthlink.net/~jmorg/matrix/Matrix.htm

SNPBOND- here's the error on The Matrix Revolutions and it has been confirmed that it is on the glass master used to stamp all the actual Blu-ray discs. Just go to the link and you'll get an explanation. After I noticed this mistake, I had my friend create the link. Warner Bros. is aware of the problem so hopefully they will have a recall like they did with the T3 Blu-ray last year.

This may not bother everyone and some people haven't even seen it but it's an error that should have never made it to the actual replicated discs so the WB needs to honor the mistake and make an offer of a replacement. Compression errors/master errors like this bug the hell out of me since QC technicians are hired to catch these kind of mistakes. As far as the Dark Knight pixelated frames, that's on purpose but The Matrix issue on Revolutions is a mistake and is on every single Blu-ray in all the box sets. No one has a copy without this error no matter what anyone says.

Oberron- you are welcome. I hope you enjoy your home theater and have a good time building a new Blu-ray library.

One thing for everyone to also check out is this error on the extended DVD cut of Return of the King. http://home.earthlink.net/~jmorg/LOTR.htm

Despite it being 4 years later and only on DVD, I was always amazed that no one ever commented on this since it was a major mistake on a major A title.

It's still there as it was never fixed or never given a green light to fix by anybody at New Line. Once the movie comes to Blu-ray, I do hope that people doing the QC will have their eyes opened.

I can't tell if you're joking or not but most Warner titles start playing the movie automatically and don't have a main menu. They use the pop-up menu. I wouldn't mind that practice as much if they'd default to lossless audio.
