Default Polk vs Jobsite inwall center

Polk LCi-C inwall center $500 vs Jobsite LST-CTR $170

Um...yeah, the reviews the Amazon (2) seem to say that the J/S speaker is acceptable.

Guess I'm wondreing if anyone has any experience with Jobsite speakers. Seeing that it's 1/3 the price of the Polk, I'm having a hard time talking myself into staying 100% Polk on my HT.

If you want to save money, get a piece of plywood, cut out holes for a pair of Pioneer or Infinity car audio speakers, and wire them in series for 8 ohm load. They'll sound ten times better and cost half of what this "Jobsite" rig will cost.

You're better off not carving holes in your wall for that thing. Get a good Definitive ProMonitor center speaker for the same money and mount it on your wall.

So you've owned one of these? Or Niles has a bad reputation? I guess I'm wondering how you came to the opinion you offered?

I've heard plenty of in-wall speakers, but not these. It depends on whether you want high quality, or just any in-wall speaker. Most sound no better than what you hear for background music in an office, and some people are happy with that.

Take the dive if you like; it depends on how high a standard you demand. I definitely would not buy them, and would instead get a set of quality speakers you can hear first, and mount them externally on the wall. You can probably save money, too.

By the way, those aren't "reviews"; they're very basic comments, on the level of "they sound fine, I'm happy" which doesn't tell me much.
