Default Yahoo User's Top Rated War Films

A very good list. Agree with the #1 choice. For the first time those Yahoos are pretty much on the ball.

Agree with Private Ryan but Braveheart over Schindler's List? Come on now, let's be honest Braveheart is fun but hardly in the same quality as Schindler's List. Just the historical inacuracies alone should put Braveheart way below on this list.

I would've liked to have seen The Thin Red Line on that list, but oh well. That's just me.

I certainly love "Saving Private Ryan" When he is walking through the cemetary at the beginning of the film, and the American flag is waving, it just gets to me, everytime..... I also think the following films deserve to be on that list.

Gettysburg
Sands of Iwo Jima
The Longest Day
Midway
Guns of Navarone

I am not the biggest war film fan, but I believe the top 3 could be interchangable. Wouldn't Lawerence of Arabia be up there (top5 at least)?

meh. Enemy at the gates should have been lower, Patton and Apocalypse Now should have been higher. I'm not really a fan of Saving Private Ryan, I just can't take Tom Hanks seriously as a soldier. He's a good actor but all I see Forest Gump. I did like him in Apollo 13 though.
