Default sony blu ray htiab??

Has sony announced or released a blu ray home theater in a box yet? i know about the BDV-IT1000ES but at $2000 its kinda pricey. any word on a lower htiab model??

You can pair the BDP-S550 with the matching HT-SS2300 or HT-SF2300 systems for around $700.

true that, but im trying to keep the receiver/player in one box not two seprate ones. Actually while on that topic is there a difference between having a receiver and player seperate as opposed to having them all in one.

A receiver is completely different from the player & there are no receiver/players. There is one and the other.

All things being equal, separates are better. Separate power supplies are a good thing, plus of course putting everything into one box implies that you're trying to make the system as cheap as possible. 'Cheap' rarely equals 'good'.

But if that's what you like, go for it.
