jbl ceiling mounted speakers - Blu-ray Forum

ive just installed jbl ceilng mounted speakers for my surrounds would it be advisable to build a box to sit over the top of them in the ceiling to push the sound more down into the theatre room . should it improve the sound as a lot of sound is heard when you up in the roof area any advice would be great thank you.

That depends. If JBL made them specifically to work with a back box, then yes, you probably will get a quality improvement. If they were made with the intention of being free air behind them, then putting them in a box would make them sound worse.

Check with JBL as to your specific model and whether they recommend the use of a back box.
