"Win" is a rather kind description; it was more of a rout/ass-kicking.

If you read the first part of that article, it pretty much did during march, "the [BD] accounted for nearly three out of every four high-def discs sold." That's good to know, even though HD-DVD didn't have any new releases most of that month.

Page 28 of that issue also states that, since inception, 1.2 million BD titles have been sold, while 937,500 HD-DVD titles have been sold since it's inception. So, that video business article was right about the >1 million BDs sold! Highdefdigest better report that Blu-ray became the first of the two to get there pretty damn soon!

The 1Mil is a good job for all of us. And based on the numbers, the majority of the 1.2 Mil was made in three months of this year. So that's pretty good.

Now we need to pull another 1 Mil by end of June, at the very least. Go be a BD advocate!

I'm renting Deja Vu first, but I'm def buying 4-6 on May 22nd and at least 2-3 on June 5:

POTC 1, 2
Flags and Iwo Jima
Apocalypto
Mission: Impossible (I've rented it, haven't watched it yet, need to see how looks before I decide)

Hellboy
Blood Diamond (Didn't think the movie was anything special, but it should look excellent, and I want to show Warners they don't need to put the extras on there)

There are a few others I've got to see before I buy.

The year-to-date numbers overshadow the since-inception numbers so much it's laughable. That's about the only stat that HD-DVD has left, that they're not too far behind in since inception, while they're getting absolutely cleaned out in year-to-date sales comparison (they're certainly not getting cleaned-out in the stores).

Anyone know how many DVDs sell per month? Not saying BD should be doing that (that's a bit overzealous), just would like a number for it , to compare the growth of BD.

Yeah, but even claiming that HD-DVD is still close since inception is pretty sad, since they should be ahead given their headstart and Blu-ray's shaky launch. I think it actually should be cause for alarm that they're behind in the overall picture, since that means Blu-ray has taken the lead and is running away with it. These numbers don't lie - HD-DVD's future is bleak at best.
