It's marginally less expensive than first class mail (if you buy postage electronically, as through Paypal), but you can't buy delivery confirmation. I don't know why people charge more to mail to Canada, other than it's a PITA to fill out a customs declaration.

ive shipped movies to canada before. like above poster said, first class is the least expensive and generally 6-10 business days (mine usually get there within 1 week). it costs around $2-$4 depending on weight (if you're only shipping a few movies). however, if you try to upgrade to priority it's a HUGE price jump (generally $20+ for shipping).

I had my Onkyo receiver sent here and if it's UPS or Fedex that handle the cross border stuff they seem charge you again basically .............and I'm guessing they get to charge twice because it's a different country?? I was never given a real answer on this.
Even though most of the eastern seaboard is closer then lets say Vancouver is to us here I just think it's a money grab. I had stuff come from China that I had less cost and less headache and was shipped 3 weeks faster!
