I have the 350 and it has BD Live. If some discs don't play you'll probably have to upgrade the firmware. I think those of us in the U.S. are waiting on an upgrade for Baraka to play.

This is one instance when a search would have sufficed. All your questions should be answered just a few threads up... https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=40476

I don't use BD Live either but I have the latest available firmware (v. 010). In this case, it doesn't hurt anything.

I got the Sony BDP-S350 and almost immediately updated the firmware from stock version .007 to updated version .010. This enables the BD Live function on it. I also downloaded the controversial version .013 firmware, but have not (and my not) install it until there is a more official US release from Sony.

You won't be disappointed in the 350. Go for it!

Hey all
Well I'm new here and I'm glad you all love your Sony 350. I got a 300 and didn't know they made new ones lol, the one thing I don't like about the 300 is how slow it loads but now I see the 350 is much faster on loading. Thanks for the info you guys have giving!!

I use its' ethernet port to update the firmware as needed.
I don't bother with BDLive.

I am a bit confused by your statement about Baraka. I own the BD of Baraka and the Sony S350 is my main BD player. I have had no troubles playing Baraka. In fact, it is one of my favorites to watch. The AQ and PQ on this BD are exquisite.

I was lucky and got my 350 for $199 at BB on a non advertised black friday special.
LOL they had a stack of 12 of them sitting on the floor with a hand made sign on them. I had been to 3 stores that day and had given up. The wife and I were looking for a movie when I spotted them and did a double take.
