Sony HTSF2300 - Will this do HD audio when being used with a PS3??? - Blu-ray Forum

Looking at the specs of this thing, it appears that it will do HD audio (working with a PS3) as follows:

HDMI Repeater
HDMI Quality: 1080p, 1080/24p, x.v.Color (xvYCC)
LPCM through HDMI (2 ch., 5.1 ch.)

Does anyone see that it's lacking anything? The reason I ask is the employee at the Sony store seemed to indicate that it won't work.

Any thoughts?

I have yet to hook it up, but I scored the HT-SF2300 for $380 shipped. It will go great with my BDP-S550.

i got the system for $340 shipped... its beautiful and its great for a small living room/bedroom type set up. i absolutely love it.

p.s. yes you can get hd audio on it.

Yes, using an HDMI cable set the PS3 to Linear PCM and you are good to go

I got mine from TopChoiceDigital.com for $380 shipped but I would NOT recommend buying from them.

If you can get them for around $400 shipped, they are worth the extra $50-75 versus the HT-SS2300. The floor-standing speakers look really cool.
