for me, i bought the posters and bought the frames from wal-mart/michael's/target and just put them together. if you buy a 27x40 poster, you can get a frame the same size and not have to worry about anything showing except the poster itself.

i've still got 3 to frame and hang myself.

It's much cheaper to just buy the poster, and then frame it yourself. Most movie posters are standard 24x36, and you should easily be able to find a frame for that.

I get my posters professionally framed from allposters.com (same link DavidAg02 posted) so I don't have those unsightly poster wrinkles that you get with just framing yourself. If that doesn't matter to you, frames from anywhere (walmart, target, Michaels, etc.) will work, and they all carry the standard poster size frames.

While moviegoods and allposters are fine, it depends on what you are looking for. Those two sites sell a lot of reproduction posters. Some originals can be found but they are usually over priced.

If you would like original theatatrical posters, try doing some research on www.movieposterforum.com. Great information. You can also buy original posters on that forum under the classified section. eBay is also a good place to look. You just need to know what to look for and try to buy from a reputable dealer.

Most newer release posters are relatively inexpensive.

I get all mine from ebay. They're 27"x40" and I've not paid over $15 for my posters (except my autographed one). I get my frames from wal-mart for $20 although they tend to be a just a little bit smaller, so if it's a collector item I would find a frame somewhere else like the craft store Michael's (if you have them).

Real one-sheets are NOT 24x36. One sheets are normally 27x40 and are double sided (for back lighting).

I built my own backlit poster frames (turned out pretty nice, you can see them in my gallery... not lit up though). I get my posters through a source on ebay.

buying full sized ones can definitely be expensive! I saw an unframed 'Saving Private Ryan' poster that was $250 I decided on a solution for myself I printed some out on 8.5" x 11" photo paper...just another alternative, unless you really want full sized ones, those are cool too

I have purchased quite a few of these frames on eBay. They are decent quality and are not overly expensive. UV plexiglas and archival foam board.

What do you consider too expensive? For my posters, I went with the cheap black metal pre-cut frames found at most craft stores and had them cut the glass and dry mount the poster. Price comes to somewhere in the $100 range which isn't too bad for 27 x 40 frame and looks much nicer than the cheap wal-mart frames. They'll usually even assemble it for free.

Oh yeah, while dry mounting a poster will prevent it from wrinkling, it will also diminish the value of the poster as well. So yeah.

www.emovieposter.com is having an internet auction right now. Some of the prices are pretty darn cheap at the moment. Indiana jones, Star Wars, Bond, etc....

They will all be authentic BTW.....

Allposter and anything I can find on Google and I buy the framing myself at Wal-mart, Fred Meyer, or Michael's.

This is the best way.. it's cheap and works great. That extra money can go towards Blu's or better gear.

For the 2 new Watchmen posters and a Terminator 4 poster, I paid $15 each... But on most, I think $6-$10 is my average that I spend.

Agree. I've gotten all of my wallpaper frames from Walmart for about $20 per frame. Average movie poster cost me about another $20 so $40 total. Not too bad for authentic double sided posters of my favorite movies.
