anyone have any experience with amazon preorders on games?? i preorder most of my blus from amazon and im starting to really love the convenience of not driving anywhere. im just wondering when they usually ship their games. is it on release day? or a few days before? i usually always get my day one purchase games from gamestop or something on release day, but im starting to lean towards amazon.

I have a question about amazon pre-order, I try to check info on the site but could not answer my question.
If you pre-order something that is release in 2 month (for example Bolt) when do they charge your credit card? Right the moment you make the order or only when they ship? |

I have prime and have always gotten new releases of Blu and 360 games either on game day release or a day before. I don't think you'll ever get release day if you order using free super saver shipping...

In my experience it really varies -- I preordered the latest Batman movie and it arrived a few days late....but I also preordered Tommy Boy and Dumb and Dumber and Tommy boy came 1 week EARLY and Dumb and Dumber 2 weeks early!!!!

Ive heard from over 10 peeps in blu-clan, and they tend to NEVER get their games on release day, but instead a day after or two.
Some games will have a Guaranteed Release Date Delivery option ... bioshock had this (ps3) ... where if you are prime you get it automatically, if your not, you pay 4.95 for this feature. Unfortunately, after alot of digging around I found out this was not a feature the user could select but instead pops up on games that Amazon I guess knows will have earlier than expected so in that case they can guarantee release date delivery ... to know if a game offers this ... it is usually posted in green letters right around the price point. |

I've ordered video games from Amazon before and have never had a problem. I preordered SF4 Collector's Edition from them. I mainly picked Amazon because another game that I bought back in late November/early December came with a free $10 credit towards a future video game purchase. At the time there was nothing else out that I wanted that was already out to use it on, so I put it towards preordering SF4. I almost never get my stuff on release date, but that's not really too big of a deal for me. I always pick their free Super Saver Shipping. I refuse to pay money for prime, and I really don't like paying for shipping at all if I can avoid it, so free shipping works for me. If you are really anal about getting your stuff on release date, you may as well just stick to a physical B&M store. But if you don't mind waiting a few extra days, it's a great way to get games and not have to pay tax, etc, on them. |
