looking to buy new receiver

Im in the market to buy a new receiver one that supports dolby tru hd and dts hd master, my current blu ray player is my ps3, whats a good receiver with a affordable price that works good with the ps3 to decode hd audio?
and how would i hook it up and put my settings to get the hd audio?

The PS3 won't bitstream HD audio, so whether or not the receiver will decode it is not an issue.

At the minimum you will need a receiver that will accept PCM audio (the PS3 will decode the codecs internally and sent them out to the receiver in that format).

Some will tell you just buy the cheapest (yet, decent) receiver you can since with a PS3 there's no reason to buy a receiver that can do the decoding itself, and others will tell you to buy one that will do so (for future upgrades). The choice is really up to you.

FWIW, when I did mine I bought a Sony DG720. It does accept PCM via HDMI, which is what you are looking for. It's been a fantastic receiver. Think I paid less than $300 for it. I'm sure others will have some other options for you, as well.
