Default PS3 HDMI signal problems

Last night I installed the FW 2.60 on my PS3 then shut it down, did not even check out the new features or anything.

Today I was re-arranging some wires, while I played a movie on the DVD player on the tv and the HDMI cable from the PS3 came out.
First I did not realize what happened, but when I tried to turn on the PS3 about an hour ago the tv just showed "no signal".
I changed the input channels back and forth, restarted the console etc and always the same. Then I decided to check all the cables in the back of the tv, which were all fine, as I saw that the HDMI cable going into the PS3 has become lose.
I turned everything off, plugged it back in and started it all up again, still "no signal".

Any ideas what might have happened?

I really really hope it did not fry on me!

Well since I did not get any replies, I tried to replace the HDMI cable with a component one (the way I had it set up on my old tv) and it worked just fine.
Seems like the settings for the video/audio output have been reset somehow?

Anyways, as it worked with the component I switched it back to HDMI and everything is fine now!

Puhhh... I was really scared there for a minute!

Just wanted to post an update on this...

yeah, for some reason that happens to ps3's
for instance, if you bring your ps3 to a friends house and he has a 1080p TV, so you set the video settings to 1080p.

Then you take the ps3 home, where, for instance, your TV only has 720p. If you plug in HDMI and turn on TV and PS3, you'll get no video signal.

Sounds like the FW update reset your video settings for some reason, that's weird cause I downloaded the update last night and my PS3 wouldn't connect. I changed the ethernet cord and presto, back online. Looks as if they're some small bugs with the new update. Glad to hear you got your HDMI back up and working.
