FOX Ends Prison Break
Final episodes will replace Terminator on Friday nights.

January 13, 2009 - At the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, FOX officially confirmed news that had long been rumored – the current fourth season of Prison Break will be its final one. The series is currently on a break (no pun intended), but will return on Friday, April 17th at 8:00pm for its run of final episodes.

Prison Break will take the place of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Terminator returns on Friday, February 13th for the final eight episodes of Season 2, which will conclude on April 10th. Joss Whedon's new series Dollhouse will air its thirteen episode season in the Friday, 9:00 timeslot, first following Terminator, then Prison Break.

I asked FOX's President of Entertainment about the previously talked about possibility of a couple of extra hours of Prison Break, to wrap the story up. He said that was something "we're contemplating," but wasn't sure yet if these would be regular episodes or air as a stand-alone two-hour TV-Movie, a la 24: Redemption.

Asked why FOX gave Prison Break "the hook," Reilly answered, "We didn't give it the hook," saying he felt that the storyline of the show had naturally played out and come to a conclusion.

Wow, I hope it doesn't end without some kind of sensible closure...although I do agree it should come to a close, just wished they had planned it that way from the get-go.

definately the end was already here.....I was an avid fan but I could not take this season and finally gave up on it.....I'm sure many others did as well and to think it was such a great show at the on set...

That's what I thought as well lol... I never really watched the show but I figured it would have ended after season 1 , once he broke out.

Nah... season 2 was good and season 3 was worth watching... this season, though, I got out of pretty quick.

I really like this show. Now as long as the ending is well-written I got no problem with it ending this season.

The end of season one was the real end to that show... then it just turned horrible.

I loved all the seasons but S1 was def the best. As long as they end it and not be &^%$ like NBC with Las Vegas, that really sucked.

This season has been the best since Season 1. They finally found a new direction to go in and it was pure entertainment. Some people just get hung up on titles.

Shame this will be the end, but at least they know ahead of time and can write out a proper conclusion instead of just dropping it.

I'll miss the show but, yeah I feel it has done it's time. So many other shows anyways.

yeah thats why i never started watching it, i figured it would just get stupid after season 1 was over when they broke out, ive gotten mixed reviews from people who watched the whole series, but it couldnt have really been too great if its over after 4 seasons, overall im not too upset about not having watched it

I used to watch the first season which was really good...but it turned dumb after that. I had NO idea that show was still on and people still watched it...

Prison Break is one of my favorite shows on TV but I have to agree that it was time to end the show. Good call.

Fox is so blatant in its sending of shows to Friday night to die it's amazing. It'll be a miracle if people don't give up on watching anything new they produce in the post 24, post Idol, post House days.
