You slackers! 19 hours since the news dropped and nobody has posted about Exterminator 2 yet? Oh the shame of it all!

I havent seen this in years, since I rented it a ton from the local video store circa 1989 or so, but I remember it was some great schlock!

I bought the "4 Action-Packed movie marathon" DVD set that Shout released a few years ago right when it came out, specifically for Extermintor 2. Also comes with Eye of the Tiger, Cyclone and Alienator. Hadn't seen Extermintor 2 in many years as it had never even had a DVD release at that point. Already had the MGM DVD of the underrated Eye of the Tiger. I'm hoping Shout releases a double feature Blu-Ray set of Eye of the Tiger and Bulletproof with audio commentaries from Gary Busey. That would be awesome.

Exterminator 2 has one of the best movie posters ever. What a low energy action hero Robert Ginty was. Classic piece of vigilante 80's action cheese. Hope the Blu has extras, there's rumors of a much longer workprint.

There is a workprint out there, or at least, I've heard many instances of folks who claim to have a copy. It's such a pervasive rumor that I don't doubt it, although I'm a little bummed that it's never surfaced.

The DVD had a disappointing audio commentary with director Mark Buntzman and Mario Van Peebles, but it contains so little substance about the making of the movie that it's disappointing. At one point, Buntzman alludes to tension with Robert Ginty, but it's never expanded upon.

Not to mention that portions of the film were reshot by another director (producer William Sachs, I think), and Buntzman never goes into this.

I doubt Shout will prepare more supplements than this, but I'd love it if they did. There's also a brief "making of" that can be found on YouTube. It'd be neat to throw that on there as well.

I haven't seen either one but they seem like films I'd enjoy.

Yeah, I was disappointed in the commentary track for the same reasons. I have seen that "making of" on YouTube. It would be very cool if they included that. But I doubt it'll include anything other than the previous audio commentary.

The blu ray from 101 Films has a good 20 minute interview with Williams Sachs he says why the Exterminator wears his biker helmet for the entire finale.

The Arrow BD of the first film has commentary by Bunzman and he talks about making Exterminator 2 on their and the Ginty situation.

How's the PQ on the 101 Films disc? I thought the Shout! DVD looked great, but I may consider importing that BD if it looks good.

Picture looks good. No dout Shout will be using the same MGM master that 101 used.

I also have that, I was really happy with how good the SD version looked and it comes w/ a commentary! But i loved the movie so much I'll probably splurge for this.

Only took me a couple weeks to watch it, take that suckers!

I don't know who did it, or the how and when, but this is a nice master. Movie looks great, as good as you could ever expect. Have no hesitation about that. The movie itself was pretty terrible though, much worse than the original. I think it dips below my personal low bar of crap I want to own, so I kinda regret getting it, but oh well. Fans should not hesitate to grab it.

I thought it was a fun bit of fluff and the action sequences were entertaining enough to keep my attention. It felt like the movie was similar to where the Death Wish movies were going, but someone at Cannon said "Geeze, Bronson is like 103 years old. We better get a new guy - oh, and give him a flame thrower!"

Mind you, I had smoked an F-ton of weed right before watching, so that may have . . . um, colored my opinion of the flick.
