Playstation Controller Problems - Blu-ray Forum

I have just bought the PS3 and I have 1 controller. I think it is the dualshock one. Its the one with a USB that goes to the system to the controller. But they system won't recognize I have the controller. The controller is inactive and I am trying to play a demo game. May be a stupid question but am I doing it right? I have it plugged into the second USB with the controller and I am getting no response?

have you pressed and held the PS logo button in the center of the controller to turn it on?

One of the 4 small squares should be flashing (charging) whether the controller is on or not.
