Question re: future Playstation Update & Controller Charging?

Hey guys,

I've a complete newbie to this section of the forum and had a quick question. I did a quick search and didn't find anything and I wasn't sure if the sticky above relates to this since it seemed to deal with another issue. Anyways, anyone know if there any plans to have a future firmware update that allows the PS3 to charge the controller when in stand by mode (similar to what the 360 does)? Thanks, and feel free to redirect me to another thread if this has already been discussed

I think the way it charges is based on the circuitry of the PS3, which is not changeable by upgrading the firmware.

Any PC/laptop USB port should suffice in a pinch. Also, Belkin makes a few nice plug-in solutions with multiple USB ports for charging.

nice, thanks for the response. didn't realize you could charge via a PC usb port (though i guess why wouldn't you be able to )
