Another Death at Monter Trucks - Blu-ray Forum

the first one was the 5 year old boy who was killed when the truck fell apart.

this one, baffels me.

The events promoter(who was preeching saftey during the event) was the current victam.

During a show, the truck was turning a corner, and for some reason, the promoter decided it was a smart thing to walk out into the floor while the trucks were still moving, and he was crushed

WTF!??! Why would you do that!!!!!!!??!! The little 5 year old getting killed was really tragic and they need to look into some more safety features.

Promoter/Arena/Sanctioning Body assumes no responsibility for loss or damage.

1500-2000 Horsepower, care to guess what kind of forces are being generated inside one of those engines?
Do you know how far a valve or piston will travel when *ANY* engine explodes?
What about something making 4-5 times the "normal" levels of power?

The drive train let go - all 2000 HP snapped something.
2000HP launching a frisbee sized piece of metal...

Crushing cars:
The trucks weigh in at ~10,000 lbs(5 tons) and will crush cars by sheer weight.
Add to that momentum and laws of physics - and parts, sometimes BIG parts, can become ballistic.

So, you are freely entering a dangerous environment.
An environment where some items have the potential energy to be launched into the next county.
There is no ballistic barriers to stop these parts.
There is a very real possibility you may die or get severely injured by just being there.

This promoter, he walked out into an arena with moving 5 ton vehicles, that have REALLY poor visibility - without *Looking Both Ways*.

Yes, it's a tragedy, but one that could have been avoided.
From that pic, he is clueless to the fact that a moving, 20 foot tall, 5 ton truck(with uncapped headers or straight pipes(aka LOUD)) is mere feet away from him.

My sympahies go out the families.

nah, he just got to comfortable with his job and lost the perception of the danger associated with it. He clearly didnt look both ways before entering the arena
