nothing in the quote even hints that any writing is going on, and no way do i trust "sources", especially after roven says he would guess there would be a movie in between, just like between batman begins and the dark knight

ill wait till theres official word that the writing has begun to get excited

Well as long as the Nolan brothers and David Goyer take their time and flush out a great story and get everything right again then there is no need to rush and I have no problem waiting till 2011 when it will probably hit theaters anyway.

Well, I got beat to it, but theres this also:

Quote:
Despite recent statements from The Dark Knight producer Chuck Roven that work on a sequel was limited to "talking and thinking" stage, apparently a script is indeed in the works.

Citing an "extremely reliable source," ReelzChannel's Jeff Otto, representing IESB, went to Roven for confirmation, to which Roven replied: "The creative driver of the project at this point is Chris [Nolan]. There's really nothing more for me to say about that. When he feels that he's got something to talk about, then we'll be able to talk about it."

I kinda wish they wouldn't do a new film. How many franchises can you name that have been ruined by pointless sequels? It just seems to me that if something is great just leave it at that. Anyone here wish Empire was the last Star Wars film?

Pointless sequels, yes. The same people that wrote Begins and TDK are behind a third one. I doubt they'll make anything less than the best they can.

I agree with you that it will be good. I guess my attitude is why risk it ya know?

Like if the series just becamse a vehicle for A listers to try and do what Heath did with the Joker it would be sad....

Well, A listers have been a hallmark of this short franchise. Cain, Freeman, and Oldman, plus Liam Neeson, with Bale and Ledger being vaulted into A list status because of it... you see where I'm going with this. But I agree completely, I don't want someone like Johnny Depp, good as he may be, come and try to over-act his way to an award because he thinks it's an easy slam dunk.
