I hate to ask this somewhat silly question, especially to this fanboy-ridden board... But isn't more appropriate to ask "when" something will be released on BD as opposed to "if"...
Wouldn't you assume darn near every (major or not) film will be re-released on BD at some point? Hasn't that been the trend from laser/VHS/DVD and so forth?... |

There have been about 96,000 DVDs released, excluding Adult releases, and non-region 1 titles......
So the probability of something NOT being released on blu-ray is pretty slim if it's from a major studio etc... and very good chance that most movies people can think of, will probably be released on blu-ray. But yeah.... I think the question is pretty silly to continuously ask anyways. |

It's just for conversation's sake. & no duh about the coming soon section. I'm talking about a broader picture here. I'm asking if one could assume... not if one knows. I just look at movie like In Bruges, Motorcycle Diaries, The Village etc... they'd have to be released at some point. If BD player & BDs themselves continue to rise in sales... These studios would have to, knowing many of us have converted. |

It is a fair assumption that most of the movies from the major Hollywood studios will eventually see a Blu-ray release. But I would not assume every dvd that ever came out will get an equivalent BD. Rights are lost, masters damaged, and some material simply would not translate that well to the Blu-ray format. There are movies that came out on VHS that have never seen a dvd release.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter can get released on Blu-ray then anything can.
