Smile Rob's Home Theater

This is my improving home theater setup. Only really got serious about my system in the last few months. So far, this is what I have.

JVC HD-Z70RX5 70" High Definition Rear Projection TV
Sony HT-DDW7000 7.2 Surround Sound
Sony Playstation 3 80GB (Which I play my blu-rays on)
Austar Mystar cable box

As with the movie posters on the wall, I'm looking to get them framed when i have enough cash.

These photo's aren't the best quality, but they should load quickly.

Any comments, suggestions appreciated.

I would try to toe in those towers a little to your listening position. And I would also try to get that center off the floor and a litttle higher

Other than that...pretty nice setup.

Thanks,

In the future, I'm thinking of upgrading the TV to a full 1080p. When I bought this one I didn't really know too much about it, and the max resolution is only 720p, However I set the PS3 up at 1080i... If that is any better.

I've been trying for awhile to get that center speaker up off the floor, just can't find any room for it. However, thinking about getting a little stand for it. Without making it too ugly

That's a huge TV! I wonder if anyone can come in through that window/door behind your setup and steal your stuff.. Careful! Good stuff though. Let me know what you think of my set-up in my Home Theater thread!

I agree get the center up off the floor or at least tilt it up towards you listening area. 2 rubber wedge door stops will do the trick. Just wandering how the sony speakers sound.

I love that TV, my dream to get a full HD 70" TV

What do you guys think about center channel on the floor but with an angle going up? Are those any good?

Yeah, either angle that thing up or get it on a stand. I vote for the stand.

Really nice looking. I think maybe some wire-management is in order, especially on those surrounds. Love the seating. Wish I had a little dedicated room like that!

Nice set-up. I agree with everyone else on the front soundstage. How are the Sony speakers? Are they an older model (I've never seen those)?

I've taken the advice and angled the 2 front speakers inwards to the sweetspot, and angled the center speaker upwards, and it does make a big difference.

As for those speakers, I'm not sure how old they are, but i only bought them in dec08

As far as you center goes, you could try something like THIS instead of replacing your whole stand. (alot cheaper and same results)

As far as the Sony speakers, I really have no idea. I hope they sound as good as they look!
