Default Flat panel TVs

Sometimes I look at prices for flat panel TVs online and I see that the price range is still over $1,000 for a 40 to 70 inch TV. I also hear that analog TV broadcasts are supposed to end in a few years, however this year keeps getting pushed back with the year now being 2009 I think. A lot of TV shows are now show in HD. It seems that one day, you'll walk into a bestbuy and not see one tube TV around. Could a flat panel TV ever come under $1,000 for a 30 to 40 inch TV?

Well, CRT TVs have so there's no reason why a flat TV won't. Everything gets cheaper as it becomes widespread so it's just a matter of time.
