PSN - lack of movie/blu-ray trailers - Blu-ray Forum

This probably doesn't really need a new thread, but I'm bored so it's getting one.

Anyone else kind of perplexed and slightly disappointed with the lack of trailers that show up for download on the PSN. I do tend to love trailers, so it could just be me.

It sort of hit me today when I was thinking about FF VII: Advent Children. I haven't yet picked it up on Blu because the Canadian pricing on it isn't great, and unless I missed it, there isn't a trailer available on the PSN for this. I really wanted to see it in HD glory today though, so a trailer would have been awesome. It just seems kinda crazy to me because:

1. It's distrubuted by Sony
2. It's a video game tie in movie
3. FFVII just released on the PSN Store and is selling like crazy

Does it not seem only natural to put up a trailer for the blu to let people know it's available and to entice them into buying it with the sure to be splendid visuals?

Final Fantasy aside though, it seems like new trailers for either theatrical movies or blu-ray releases rarely get added. I really wish there were more. I'd never even heard of 'The Fall' until I downloaded the trailer off of the PSN and now I really want to see it.

Trailers used to get added a lot more frequently if I remember correctly. There also used to be a lot more available before the store redesign.

Did people just not download them? Did Sony just give up? Did they lose partners? What do you all think?

Some of the anime on the video store have trailers for it before you download it though the trailer is not downloadable. But wish there was more video game trailers though.

Hmm. Maybe that's part of the problem. We don't get a video store up here in Canada. I guess Sony could just be focussing their attention there.

We used to get them all the time (hence the OP's complaint), back before they reorganized the store and added movie rentals--
Now they've all been shoved back to a corner of the Movie section, and even then we've only started getting them back this past month...

..Hold yer horses, we'll probably get more movie trailers, but, like the ones before, only for the "Gamer demographic" ones, like Wolverine and Terminator.

If anything they need to put more HD version of movies and tv shows to buy instead of the Standard versions

I noticed this some time ago. It seems they're showing the latest movie trailers in the theatre at "Home" now, which for me, isn't as good. I like to see full screen trailers.

I wish there was more also, I download whatever trailers they put up, the Inglorious Bastards one looks really good.

I don't mind them, but i agree the selection isn't the largest or greatest.
