Default Is this a good CRAIGSLIST deal??

I'm planning on upgrading my receiver to the Pioneer Elite SC-05 and would like to upgrade my speakers as well. What do you guys think of this set of Klipsch speakers? Good deal or should I look elsewhere? Thanks for any input!

Is $1,000 your max budget or can you spend more?

I can spend more. It's been a while since I've shopped for speakers so I'm somewhat out of the loop as far as the current offerings go. What would you suggest?

Well I used to have Klipsch Reference line, RF-63's, RC-64, RS-52's. They would blow this entry level system away (not that I'm knocking it, just getting to my point) which is I just sold all that after Listening to Paradigm Monitors, which IMO opinion blew my system away, and is much cheaper than what I spent on my Klipsch.

If you haven't listened to Paradigm I would definately suggest it. They are a completely different speaker than the Klipsch. Much better mids and highs IMO.

I have the Monitor 11's, CC-390, and ADP-390's which are the top of the Monitor line. You could go with the 7's or 9's and still destroy the Klipsch IMO. They are just a much better speaker, espicially for their acoustics if you listen to any music at all. Do you have a dealer near you?

Thanks for the input I'll be sure to check them out. I was just browsing Craigslist and came across these. Didn't realize it was their entry level system. Thanks again for the response.

Yea it is, check out their website. I think I paid around $800 just for my Klipsch center (RC-64) if that gives ya an idea. But most definately check out the Paradigms. I got a sweet deal by picking up the v5's instead of the just released v6's (basically just changed the grills, drivers are still the same). Got about 50% off. Try www.audiogon.com.

If you were to demo this system and like it, I happen to have it on sale at work for $1200 brand new... so I'd look around.
