A recently-added listing on the official HD DVD web site would seem to indicate that Universal Studios Home Entertainment is on the verge of announcing the cult hit 'Hot Fuzz' for HD DVD release sometime in the coming months.

Holy crap.

Hot Fuzz is great.

It will probably be one of Universals better movies this year.

Bourne 3 will be another.

This is big news for HD DVD... Since they won't be getting Spiderman 3 and Pirates 3 and... etc...

Hot Fuzz is absolutely hilarious; I saw it with a friend on its opening day in the U.S. and got a headache from laughing so hard.

I will most definitely pick this title up... once Universal inevitably releases it to Blu-ray.

Hot Fuzz is the best film I have seen in... well ages. I am bummed out that it's coming out on the hd-dud format. Not a title that will make much of a dent in the format war, but will be nice to have when Uni wakes up and finally goes blu.

im wondering if we can tell if there is a slow down in DVD sales for say universal. this would most notably be for people who aren't buying DVD, want a movie but it isn't offered in blu

Yeah. The thing is, the overall reduction due to a lack of blockbuster theatrical releases will probably overshadow any reduction due to BD owners.

Hot Fuzz is ok but its not a must have. We got pirates and thats enough said!

I wouldn't mind having the Bourne films, though.

Ah well. I have and will continue to have plenty of great HD material to hold me over until the time comes that those make it to Blu.
