One option if the speaker is big is use a LCD mount something like this

I use heavy LCD mounts - Omnimount makes the best, Sanus isn't that good.

How far does it have to extend, and what kind of speaker is it?

B-Tech has a center channel bracket.

Omnimount makes brackets.

Sanus usually makes stands, but I think also has some mounts.

I use the B-Tech BT77's for my front speaker mounts and think they are really well made.

This is what I use for my center mount. I have it mounted under my tv.

Just be sure you have drywall anchors, the ones Aperion send you are plastic, and I opted to buy the metal ones for better security.

I'm currently using this B-Tech from Amazon .. decent enough. Locked it into place with toggles and anchors and it's holding my PC350 really well.
