Smallville Spin-Off Possible (Should Series End)

Kryptonsite (one of the largest Smallville Insider/Fan-sites) reports rumors of a potential Smallville spin-off should the series be canceled after its 8th season. No official details of the spin-off have been revealed, but you can bet more information will likely surface once a decision is made regarding the fate of Smallville. Lois & Clark was able to pull off an epic-sized (albeit fairly cheesy ) series on a low budget, and based on today's technology and Smallville's already fairly impressive effects I'm sure the CW could come up with a great Superman show as well (if that's the spin-off they choose to go with). Another option may be Green Arrow series, but seeing as how Aquaman tanked fairly quickly, this idea is rather unlikely. Only time will tell...

A novel idea...have a series based in Metropolis...wait a minute for this...about Superman. If Warner can not get the films right, let Welling play Superman on television.

as much of a die hard smallville fan as i am (watched since pilot, only missed about 3-4 episodes original airings), i wouldnt really like to see a spin off.

Superman is great and all, but smallville is great because it is about how he became superman, what issues, problems, situations, etc. created the greatest superhero in history.

Switching to a superman series with the man of steel actually on the show as such, just wouldnt hold the same spot in my mind, and wouldnt be nearly as intriguing.

Sort of like the movies, i love superman 1 and 2 just like everyone else (a little iffy on Returns), but they were never huge movies for me, superman is awesome but he just wasn't my favorite character (that being batman/wayne).
but the Clark that Smallville portrays really got me into the character, and the way they exhibit the young CK.

That all being said, i would love for smallville to continue on with season 9 and even 10, or just up to episode 200, if the story provided. I mean you can only keep him from dawning the cape for so long.

Whenever they do decide to finally put the show to rest, i hope it goes out with a bang and retains all its glory and the respect it deserves as a serious edition to the Superman Mythos.

Yea I had downloaded it from Itunes and watched it. I thought it was well made and wished they would have continued on with it.

Dear God let it end!!!, I hate it when tv shows keep pushing past when they should have ended seasons ago. It's why I love BSG. Keep it within a solid story line that has a definite timeline and when it ends it ends.
