Default Help me pick a movie

I need help picking between the below two movies... i only have enough for the 2

Shawshank Redemption - I see all the high reviews 9.2 on imb but i remember watching this like 10 years ago and wasn't impressed but i was younger then.

Beetlejuice - My wife loves this film, and she doesn't like any films. i would say no movies since 2002 that she likes.. i also liked this back in the day but don't know how well it will hold up even though good reviews. I say this because, i thought office space was the funniest movie ever in 1999/2000 but i watched that last month on dvd and thought it was rather boring, so we all chance.

shawshank could be one of the best movies ever made. the underlying themes are undeniably human.

Was that ever a debate in your mind? An amazing film vs. pure $hit. Was not a beetlejuice fan. Song was ok tho.

If you can afford both of them, then get them both

out of the two I'd go with Beetlejuice because at least your wife will enjoy it. I'm going to get flamed here , but I thought Shawshank redemption was one of the most horrible movies I'd ever seen. My first thought was that I was watching a made for TV movie with Big name actors. Beetlejuice is pretty crappy IMO but at least a decent romp.

Beetlejuice doesn't stand the test of time, but Shawshank Redemption is timeless.

I would got with Shawshank, but I wasn't ever that big of a Beetlejuice fan. However, if the wife is happy you're happy and if you can only get one I say get that for her.

But you said you could get 2 movies, so do that instead.

Shawshank Redemption is a great movie. It is just one of those movie where you have to watch it once every year. The pacing is kind of slow but it builds up to the satisfying ending. I was so happy when the guards and the warden got busted.

Get both on standard DVD not Blu-ray and you are set. I don't see spending the extra $ on either of these for BR.
