Why is it that I've noticed that new releases come out in other countries before the U.S.? Not to say that the U.S doesn't get it first alsoat times.
But I noticed for instance that pitch black and chronicles is available in Germany and U.K. and wont be available here until march 31st.

This subject has been discussed many time here and the one thing I have noticed from US posters is that from time to time it would seem that in the US they have not sorted out the licensing and distribution as quickly as other territories.

As was explained to me:

Different studios have the licensing rights to movies in different countries. For example hypothetically: Paramount might have the rights to release a movie in the U.S. and Sony or some other company might have the rights to release the movie in Germany. Sony chooses to release the movie in Germany and for some reason Paramount does not choose to release it in the U.S. And that is how it supposedly goes.

I know. It sucks.

Cool thanks for the explanation. Was just wondering that's all. Yeah sucks but oh well march 31st isn't that far off.
