I say tie. They both played the character to perfection under two very different circumstances. Jack Nicholson's Joker does not work on Chris Nolan's vision of Batman and Ledger's does not work in Tim Burton's vision as well.

i vote for heath but i think the debate is somewhat flawed since each joker is based in a completely different world with his own separate background and motivations. imo they're both good in their own light.

To be honest, I can't stand Burton's Batman. I wasn't the type to get all caught up in Ledger's death or the hype following it, but his performance blew me away.

I agree completely with this statement...

Both may have played the same character but the Batman treatment they were in are completely different...

I liked both
