Default Bizarre Creations' Blur

First Info on Bizarre's Blur
Former PGR developers have changed its racing focus a bit.

US, April 21, 2009 - After Bizarre Creations was bought up by Activision, it would no longer work on the Project Gotham Racing franchise as Microsoft still owns the IP. So the studio moved onto other projects, one of them being a new racing effort entitled Blur.

Activision and Bizarre have both been mum on the game so far, but French gaming magazine Joypad has run a few bits of info in its latest issue (along with screenshots for those of you with access to said magazine). From what can be gathered via robotic translation, it seems that Blur is a departure from the more straightforward approach of PGR, instead allowing you to use various weapons on your opponents. Mines, shields and even some sort of electric attack sound to be in at the moment.

It also seems that Bizarre has revamped its collision technology, allowing for cars to crumple and damaged to reflect the impacts of these attacks. The game will take place in, or at least be based on, major cities like San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo and more.

We should be seeing the game for ourselves soon, very likely at E3, so check back for the straight dope soon.

How about some Blur-ry pics?

As is common now, probably true of the direct-feed screenshots too.
