Default 10in JBL sub quit working...

well i was listening to some music then my sub went to stand by and after about 5-10sec came back on. it did it about 3-5 times then never turned back on again. its only on stand by. idk whats wrong. fuse is ok, i took it apart and nothing looks blown. im not much of a electronic reparer so i need help. i already ordered a new sub(couldn't pass up the price) but i would like to get my JBL fixed. so any help would be great!!!

also, is it good to turn subs on and off multiple times aday?
and is it good to hook them up through your reciever? like the outlet on there?
thanks.

If the driver is ok, my guess is that the amplifier/crossover needs to be replaced. It is not very difficult. Read Repairing and Upgrading Subwoofers thread. A lot of useful links are in Post #2.

Don't user the receiver's outlet. The sub needs more juice than that. Swap it to a different outlet and try it again. However if BD thinks something is bad in the sub... there probably is.
