Default 22" Vizio VO22LFHDTV

http://www.amazon.com/Vizio-VO22LFHD...7569405&sr=1-1

Does anyone here have any experience with this product? Right now I have a 22 inch Sharp CRT SDTV that is around five years old, and am looking to upgrade. I have a limited space to work in, so I need a set that is no larger than the current one. Would you recommend the Vizio?

Vizio is basically rebadged Sony, I have one too, 26". If you don't mind having a TV that's that size, I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Can sets that small deliver 1080p? That's the first one I've seen listed as such.

They can but I've heard you're really not supposed to use a set under 42" for 1080p.

Well a lot of experts say that you can't really appreciate the difference between 720p and 1080p on a TV under 42", don't know if that's true or not.

Whether or not it has 1080p is inconsequential, the differences between 720p and 1080p at 22" are negligible - besides, it's probably more for use as a computer monitor - you'd have to be sitting that close to it to appreciate any differences anyway, sitting more than 5'-0"+ away from it, might as well go back to 480p.

Since when are Vizios considered "rebadged" Sonys (or any other brand, for that matter)? They are their own company. It's not like the Best Buy store brands that are rebadged LGs and such. At least, that's how I always understood it.

You're right, I don't know what this guy is talking about. Sony doesnt even make panels anyways, they share them with Samsung right now, but said they may switch to sharp. I wouldnt touch a Vizio anyways.

What these experts(and many here on this site) fail to include is that only applies if you are 8-10 feet away from it.

At much closer viewing distances(like 3 feet) 1080p can absolutely be seen and appreciated on a 22-26" display

*IF* you are going to be above the ideal distance from any size set - you should consider a set more suited for the distances you will be using it at.

I have a 42" HDTV in this bedroom.
Nominal viewing distance is between 5.5 and 6 feet. Right where one should be viewing a set of this size.

If I decide to get HD for the living room, at the distances involved I will probably need to get a projector.
