I haven't taken spanish in a long time, but it looks like it roughly says "what do you hope/wish your roommate is doing?"

My spanish could be off but I'm pretty sure esperar = to hope/wish; haga is from hacer and means "he/she is doing", and companero de cuarto is a roommate (or companero de apartamento).

The problem is hacer is used in so many different ways, and can therefore mean just about anything. It depends on the context that it's being used in. Were there other sentences before this question, to hint at what your roommate was doing (writing a book, cooking dinner, watching TV, etc)?

esperar could also mean wait but I dont think that what its going for in this sentence. But in this sentence I think its going for "What do you expect your roomate will do?"

I was wayyyyy off.

Actually, maybe not much, but I thought haga was the present subjunctive? Wouldn't "will do" be hara (with an accent on the 2nd a)?

Spanish is weird, words can mean like 20 million different things. Ive been speaking it all my life and it still confuses me lol Even took 3 years of spanish in high school for the "Easy A"... I ended up with a couple Ds my last year lol

Easy: what are you expecting from your apartment-mate or room-mate ? as in what do you expect him/her to do.
