Aspect Ratio?? - Blu-ray Forum

Probably a stupid question....but can anyone tell me why some movies are released in different aspect ratio's (i.e. 1.85:1 as opposed to 2.35:1)? I like it when the movie fills my entire plasma. Is there any way to get rid of the black bars on the top and bottom of the movie without distorting the picture? Thanks for any help! I am a newbie to this...please be gentle

The only way to fill the screen is too zoom ( I could be wrong but I dont think so

)
