Hello,
I'm looking to sell my 60GB PS3 and games and just get a regular blu-ray player. I no longer have much desire to play games and have been mainly using it for movies. That said, I have an original 60GB version which is backwards compatible which I think would definitely help the selling price. I also have about 5 games (metal gear, skate, warhark, ncaa fball, soul calibur 4), 2 controllers, and a blu-ray remote. What do you guys think I could get for that? Sorry if this topic isn't on the right board, just let me know, but I thought this would probably be the best place for it. thanks. |

Let me know if you get $500...
I also have a 60GB with 6 games, 2 controllers, Blu Ray Remote and haven't gamed with it for a long time. I would have to know there are good stand alones for under $500 to replace it with though. I wouldn't mind selling mine because a stand alone would use less energy therefore saving me money down the line on my electrical bills. I can't believe it would actually sell for near $500,... but if yours does please report back... I may want to sell mine. -Brian Edit- I checked ebay completed listings and $400 to $500 is about right.... tempting, but I don't know if I'm too lazy to go though with it. I'll say that is mighty tempting because I don't play any games really nor do I use it for online access. But it sure has served me well for BD playback.

Yeah,...
It does play CDs and (since it's the 60) it plays SACDs.... I don't think I'm going to sell mine... I'm far too in love with it. I am amazed though with the notion that I could get most of my cash back (and it was quite a lot of cash for me back then.) -Brian |

galley,
may i ask how you got it for only $218? I show it on amazon currently for $339 To anyone else, if i were to sell the ps3. what do you think would be the best bluray player I could get for $400 or less. If I sell it, I want to get a blu-ray player that is at least as good as the ps3 or better. |

are you saying this in terms of everything the ps3 can do or do you think the ps3 is the best in terms of just blu-ray playback as well?
just curious b/c if the ps3 really is the best in blu-ray PQ and load times and everything else, then it would seem like a horrible move to get rid of it just to make a couple hundred bucks |

I've never had a better Blu Ray player.
![]() I suppose it's possible that someday a better Blu Ray player than the PS3 will exist but none of the stand alone players I've experienced at friends and family have compared well to the PS3. I also use the SACD, CD, Up-coverting DVD, Media Server. Internet and Games features of mine so for me it's like a HT Computer Entertainment system more than a Blu Ray player but... It's still a fantastic Blu Ray player. |

PQ and AQ from my BX1 is great
if u want just simply a player without all the extras that the ps3 offers, id say go with the S350 or BX1 (BX1 comes with a backlight remote and HDMI cable), if u have a receiver that decodes DTS-MA because the player does not, it only bitstreams it the load times are not bad at all im usually at the previews at the beggining of the disc in about 15-25 seconds you can get a bx1 for about 210-220 right now at clubmac (unless the deal is over) or macmall also, like the poster said above, the S550 is good if u dont have a receiver to decode DTS-MA i believe the 550 does it internally and also has the 7.1 analog out if you want to use that instead of HDMI if you want all the extras and 'bells and whistles' definitly keep your ps3 |

Hi,
Quote "if u have a receiver that decodes DTS-MA because the player does not, it only bitstreams it" Now that I remember... DTS MA is another reason I would have a hard time switching from my PS3. The PS3 can decode all the audio formats and output them as PCM so when I bought a HDMI-Audio AVR I choose one that could accept PCM over HDMI. (This is true of all HDMI-Audio AVRs I think.) If I wanted to swap out for a stand alone Blu Ray player... I would have to upgrade my AVR to something that supported decoding of all the codecs. -Brian |
