Is the 60GB PS3 being Disontinued?

Sorry if this has been covered as I am new to the Forum.

I am going to be jumping into Blu-Ray in the coming weeks and I am thinking of going with the PS3. Most Stores have the 40 or 80GB. I have only found the 60GB at Toys R Us.

Is this model being Discontinued? I hate to be the last person to purchase an item before it is discontinued.

it's been discontinued already, but you MIGHT find it in a store or 2 (left over stock) I doubt it tho

Once Retailers sell out of them, they are gone. So the answer is "Yes" they have been discontinued. Best Buys in my neighborhood are still selling them as well.

If you have any PS1 or PS2 games, then it is the best option IMO.

If you only have no PS1 games and only a few PS2 games then the 80GB system is a better option.

I believe the store I work in has 2 60gb's left. I think more people are opting for the 80gb at the same price of the 60gb.

And as already been stated, the 60gb was announced as discontinued back in July.
