Arrow The Simpsons renewed for two more seasons

I used to watch this. I might catch one every once in a great while. There's even more on the way:

Quote:
Fox has ordered two additional seasons of "The Simpsons," which will bring the longest-running series in primetime television history through its 22nd season. The 44-episode pickup ensures the series will reach an astounding 493 episodes. "The Simpsons" airs Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on Fox.

Since its debut on January 14, 1990, "The Simpsons" immediately struck a chord with viewers across the country as it poked fun of itself and everything in its wake. With its subversive humor and delightful wit, the series has made an indelible imprint on American pop culture and has become one of television's most iconic families.

"Best. 20 Years. Ever.," a year-long global celebration honoring all things "The Simpsons," launched in January 2009 and will culminate on January 14, 2010, the 20th anniversary of the series' debut.

The Simpsons is classic but it has gotten worst lately but I watch it once in a while and I still enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the DVD releases of the newer seasons because I missed most of the episodes and really want to see what I missed.

Am I the only one who thinks they should do 500 episodes? Not because I'm a fan but they're SO close.

How close are they. Close enough to where they can finally put it down at the 500th episode or will the 2 new seasons take it beyond that point?

Like others here I catch it one in while, but it's no where near as good as it used to be.

After these 2 seasons it will be 7 away from 500.

The worst episode of the Simpson's is still 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000x better than the best Family Guy.

This is the one show that will never end. We will be on here 15 years from now posting that it's renewed again.

I haven't watched a whole season of this show in YEARS, actually close to 10 years now which amazes me! I actually enjoyed the movie though, but I just can't bring myself to watch a whole episode these days, let alone an entire season of them. I think I used to consider myself a fan of the show but when I realized I enjoyed roughly 10 seasons, and didn't watch roughly 9 seasons it was time to stop linking myself to the show haha.

This is one of those rare shows that Fox can honestly put on the air for the next 10 years if they wanted, no matter how bad it gets it seems there will be an audience for it. Fox can probably just keep it on to beat any record they want and people won't really object; I can't picture another show taking over the Sunday 8pm EST slot now (although one would assume Family Guy will one day).

I mean really, this show hasn't been great in years, yet look at how easily renewed it was. Now take something like Arrested Development or any other Fox show that got cancelled so easily. Fox needs to milk this for everything it's worth. I've accepted the position the show is in now.

agreed, it's bad but it's like part of the family now. Even though you hate that person, you would still invite him/her to your family gathering.

But the recent seasons are so bad that they don't even show any continuity with previously established plots. I mean... how many different "futures" you can write for each character? how many different romant..... bah, don't even want to talk about it
