Software vs. Firmware - Blu-ray Forum

Hello all this is my first post,

I just purchased a Sony BDP-S350 and I love it. It is connected to my wireless router and I upgraded it to the newest software (07.4.015) after I went through setup.

I have been browsing through the site and I see towards the top a section concerning firmware. Is this essentially the same thing as the software update I loaded or is this something else I need to get to have my s350 running at optimal level?

It's the same thing that you downloaded. The software is there for people who can't connect their player to the internet basically.
