DTS-HD Master Audio
PCM
Dolby TrueHD

I mayself like DTS-HD Master Audio over the other decoders and wanted to see what u think. I also preform a search on this but couldn't find 1.

There is no difference at all in sound quality between any of these formats. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA both use compression schemes allowing for a bit for bit identical track when uncompressed.

That said, I vote PCM. It's already uncompressed so the player or receiver doesn't have to work as hard.

I agree with DTS-HD. Having watched and listened to BD with both formats Dolby & DTS, DTS seems to have a fuller overall sound coming out my speakers. Just my view.

if i looked at my favorite AQ Blu-rays:

Master and Commander - DTSHD
Cloverfield - DolbyHD
Chronicles of Narnia - PCM

they're all of different formats...so this confirms to me that it makes no difference

Ugh, this again?

It's dependent on the mix, not the format. Lossless= lossless.

It is called lossless audio. The names are just a codec for how the data is compressed.

To the person saying DTS sounds better than DD, it should because of the higher bitrate. However, those aren't lossless formats.

Exactly, DTS is better than DD for just that reason. However, that isn't an issue with lossless audio.

PCM takes up more space than TrueHD or DTS-HD MA. Perhaps they needed the additional space in order to fit some of the new extras on the Collector's Edition release. They were also able to fit a second HD audio track, French TrueHD were as the original release only had the english PCM.

As mentioned, filesize is one issue. Another is coming into agreements with Dolby (for TrueHD). Just because a group changes doesn't mean they do it because one is "better". Your evidence is flawed.

Dolby Digital TrueHD + Decoding = Lossless Audio

DTS HD-Master Audio + Decoding = Lossless Audio

Uncompressed PCM + "nothing" = Lossless Audio

Oh, not one of these threads again. I belive PCM is the best for sound because it is identical to the theaters, what is up with 16&24 bit PCM uncompressed.

Then Dolby True HD and DTS MA both are tied for second place because they are lossless but not uncompressed.
