Default Its the mix, not the lossless audio

I think you have this all twisted. What you should be addressing is the mix, not the carrier of the audio. Its all in the mix, not how it get's to your speakers.

+1 The Transformers DVD had a Dolby Digital soundtrack that sounded better than some "higher-quality" soundtracks I've heard.

Meatloaf - Bat Out Of Hell [SACD] (Mutli-channel)

Worst high resolution lossless audio I've ever heard.
Give me the CD or vinyl anyday.

I believe that had something to do with some of the original masters being missing, or damaged.

That was only for two of the tracks though.
The entire thing was an abomination IMO.

ALMOST every TrueHD track.... make that "TrueHD MIX"... available on the market is a let down.

The 24/96 TrueHD track on the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds release is reference in my opinion.

When it comes to DOLBY TRUE HD.........I must admit I wasn't all that impressed at first, but after having several blu's with this codec, The sound seems to get much better, depending on wich movie you are watching..............go figure?

Right now i'd have to say Indiana Jones as it could have had a much more dynamic mix. I was also disappointed with Sum of All Fears and I don't think Transformers is reference.

I agree most DTS MA tracks eat Dolby True HD tracks for breakfast

Next On to Warner Brothers, most of you had to know I was going there, why not, kick em when there down. Most, if not all, Warner Brother True HD tracks are 16 bit instead of 24 bit tracks. I think most companies use 24 bit masters on Dolby True HD tracks. 16 bit PCM tracks I am fine with.

Speed Racer is Dolby Digital 5.1 only it has no Dolby True HD. So it can't really be a lossless let down. In less you count having no lossless track a let down, which I do.

I thought Indy was great but I wish it had more "omph" in the LFE department in some action scenes. Transformers was reference all the way.

Geeze guys, Indy had no omph in the theaters. Its the mix, not the codec. Why in hell does everyone point to the codecs? They just get the audio to your receiver. What do you judge when their is no codec and just PCM?

Its the mix, not the codec. Now everyone must write that one hundred times on the chalk board. LOLOLOL
