Just as everyone thought Warner had some sense they go and support another HD format, not that they have mastered BD's worth a crap with DD5.1 releases but its just the point of it.....Link

Is the quality going to be HD?

Do you remember VCD, came out same time as DVD?

Very popular here in Taiwan, quality stinks, like watching VHS through a screendoor. They were and are cheap, people buy it, they don't care for quality. Still can buy it.

I don't think another HD format from China, if similar to VCD, will impact blu-ray. VCD didn't even dent DVDs market in the US. They were available for a time, some friends have told me they had a movie on 2 computer discs, that was VCD.

No concerns over Chinese HD, if it was a new format being made in Japan, different story.
