These titles really don't appeal to me at all, although I might be interested in Phantom if only to see the beautiful Emmy Rossum.

Phew... I was scared they were going to release some movies I would have to buy. Unfortunately I'm not interested in any of those titles, so I finally get to save some money.

It sucks though that HD-DVD gets V for Vendetta on the same day... Hopefully this one will be in the next Warner wave for BD. Warner has some catching up to do on BD... we need another big wave like the 29th. I want V for Vendetta and Batman Begins before Christmas.

If the BD looks and sounds anything like the HD DVD does then this disc will be a crowd pleaser for those who can tolerate musicals anyway. I generally hate musicals but this disc is well worth owning IMO and I actually like the movie. Rossum looks terrific in HD!

I was going to buy Unforgiven years ago on dvd but the critics said bad transfer so I didn't, Now I have a reason to buy. The hd dvd review was excellent and so far all of Warners titles seam to be identicle so it will be mine and by the way wheres Batman Returns.

According to a news article posted on AVS you will be waiting longer than that for Batman Begins on Blu-ray (also harry Potter)

I wonder if some of these titles are waiting for the equivalent of IME.

Think about this - the following IME titles have been no shows on BD iirc (and correct me if I am wrong)

Constantine
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Batman Begins
V for Vendetta

I think that there is something up there.

Are there any IME titles that have made it to BD?

That is a very good observation and question. I'm was thinking that Warner was just holding out for BD-50, but maybe they are trying to figure out how to implement IME with the BD as well.

Probably just more FUD and misinformation coming from there.

Even if the wait is longer than what has been usual here: It will be worth it.

I'm looking but can't find it. It was a link to another website that said that warner was slowing its releases on blu-ray. Some of their bigger titles anyway.

Warner becoming more selective about Blu-ray?

Well, it seems as if Sony have finally made good one one of their blustering promises: after considerable delay, the first 50 GB dual-layer Blu-ray title has arrived: the, er, classic Adam Sandler vehicle Click. Yep, looks like they picked a winner to launch their high-capacity media.
It's not all fun and games at camp Blu-ray, though. Warner and Universal have announced their initial slate of titles for release in France, among them some high-profile titles like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong. These are the same titles that are already available, or will soon be available, in the US, so nothing on the list is particularly surprising. What is insteresting, however, is that a number of major Warner titles, including Harry Potter and Batman Begins, are listed as being HD DVD exclusives.
Warner is, as you probably already know, a format-neutral studio, along with Paramount, both of whom so far have a decent record of releasing material of similar quality on both formats. The suggestion that Warner are going to become more picky regarding which titles they port to Blu-ray, however, is pretty noteworthy. Warner recently announced that it was lowering its high definition software sales forecast from $500 million to $150 million. The reason? It's speculation, but the theory is that its Blu-ray sales have been a fraction of what they had been expecting. That they now seem to be withholding some of their most prized titles from Sony's format would seem to suggest a considerable shift in their faith in it. Another theory, of course, is that, as the titles marked as HD DVD exclusives are all fairly long and/or feature significant bonus materials, Warner don't want to have to pay for the more expensive (and currently in short supply) dual-layer discs.
Time will tell how this pans out, of course, but on the face of things, this would seem to be major news for a studio that, not long ago, was espousing the merits of complete format neutrality.

The article seems to be speaking about releases in France being labeled as HD-DVD exclusives. They'll soon change their minds when the PS3 launches, and other BD players begin to surface. Software sales are going to spike soon, and they will realize how much money they are missing out on.

I also can't stand how people label BD as Sony's format... more like HD-DVD is Toshiba's format. There are plenty of big name companies that are behind BD, not just Sony. I know they have a major prominance in the HT arena, but I don't think they vastly overshadow the other big dogs in the BDA.

You know, the more I read on that site the more I realize that there is some serious HD-DVD bias going on there.
