I am guessing it's a newer Charger. Just get an Oil Change and change the air filter before the trip (If needed). Then go at it, not very far if you ask me. I make that distance trip every other week. With certain parts cruise set at 110 MPH... I would not worry about it.
EDIT: But if you have the green, get a rental car with full coverage insurance... Most fun you will ever have. |

I drove about 19 hours in a 1998 Nissan Sentra. All I did was change the oil, got my tires checked for pressure, filled up my tank of gas, made sure my spare tire was okay and went. Didn't have any problems at all.
The one thing I did forget was getting a road atlas, but that was for after I made the drive, figuring out how to get somewhere else that I didn't originally plan on going to. |

Its a 2006 dodge charger But the dealer warranty is gone So thats a bummer.I would love to get a rent a car but I think its dumb for paying 500.00 for a car Im going to use for 4 days out of the whole vacation. One thing I love about Taking my care is that there is tvs,So if my daughter gets restless we can put a movie on for her.

I've had several long drives:
Atlanta to South Padre Island, Texas --- about 22 hours straight. Atlanta to Yellowstone --- God knows how long, we stopped in Kansas City and Denver. Atlanta to NYC several times --- only 885 miles or so. Atlanta to central Michigan several times --- only 825 miles or so. Cars were, of course, fine in all instances. You are not finding a unlimited mileage rental for anything less then 300-500 a week which is what he would need. You have a 3 year old car, why this is even a question? Unless you have a lease, i dont see why even bother with a rental. |

Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Dothan, AL and back - twice... with a wife and 2, and then 3, kids in the back. It's about 2,000 miles either way.
Just make sure you do your oil changes every 3,000 (before, after) and regular maintenance things and should be fine. Cars are made to be driven, after all. ![]() |

St. Louis to Big Bend, TX several times and back.
St. Louis, OK City, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Salt Lake, Idaho Falls, Glacier Park, Grand Forks, ND over a few weeks. Idaho Falls to Ann Arbor, 26 hours nonstop, two drivers Detroit to Houston nonstop, solo Fargo to Houston nonstop, solo Grand Forks to Tuscaloosa, nonstop, solo And several other long road trips. If I was out for more than 3000 miles, I would get the oil changed on the way. |

1500 miles from ND to SC in a car packed to the gills, pulling a trailer that was way too heavy. I was also driving through mountains for the first time in my life. I drove 20 hours straight in one shot from Wisc. to Greenville. I'll never do that again!

either a Garmin or a TomTom....both are nice...you can usually find their entry level ones for about a $100 on Amazon...both entry models are on the same level...both have good map coverage...the preference of either or, is usually cosmetic or esthetically based.
